Yeah, and no one (read big businesses) seems to want to be ready. They just want to wait until there's more interest. I guess they mean they want to wait until customers are leaving because they aren't offering v6 connectivity.

Oh well... as long as tunnel brokers continue to fill the hole I'll be o'kay.

Just got back from NANOG 46.. IPv6 was a huge topic there with reports of companies like Comcast and AT&T rolling it out. I believe Comcast actually has it in some areas, and I was able to establish a v6 connection at the conference (over wireless, no less!) and hit various sites like google and netflix. So it's coming..

But you're right. There is no "killer app" out there. In fact, from what I learned there, there are some significant issues, not least of which is learning a whole new slew of tools for troubleshooting. Gone will be the days of looking at the ARP table. Time to wrap your head around the new tools today so you'll be ready for tomorrow...

And I'm off.. time to learn v6!

nEmo, all the links are actually in the post except the site I used as a reference to learn PHP. For that I went to www.w3schools.com , though if you just want to compile what I did without changing it I would just use bambalam, which a link to the website is in the post above.

You have producded an inspiring work. i watched hack5 episode other day and i must say that you are a genius. i would like to compile this for my organisation. one disadvantage, i dont know anything about PHP, or the usage of roadsend php program. it's something i would love to learn but i have a little time. Could you provide me some links that you used to achieve this task... because i dont want to ask you all the n00b questions! i would like to invistage first and than ask questions if i dont understand something (that's if you wish to provide me the help that i need). thanks

Yeah, you've got a few years on me. I took the 'elder' as a nod to the goth scene (which I was loosely a part of in my youth) as you can pick up the label of elder goth in your 20s.

I've recently bought an Arduino Duemilanove (as in just received it over the weekend) because I wanted to play with some analog input stuff, and didn't really want to mess with designing an ADC for my Teensy just yet. Maybe later. Haven't had a chance to do much with it, though I did mess around with the EMF detector that was featured in the Make blog. Was a little odd to learn that my bedroom was so heavily flooded, maybe I should do something about that.

I have learned a lot from the Arduino community, and I'm sure I will continue to. Even if I'd stuck 100% with the Teensy, they are based off the same family of AVR, so not a lot of difference for high level stuff. I've seen the RBBB, and it's interesting, actually when I saw that it got me thinking about actually building an AVR directly into a project. I know the whole point of the Arduino is rapid prototyping and eventually doing just that, but that was the moment it clicked for me.

Enjoyed your blog. I just discovered teensy from a geek friend, interesting platform, especially the USB stuff. I think I have you trumped in the "elder" category - 58YO, ex-DBA who's been playing with Arduino for a couple of years now, no prior electronics experience or training, just learning by doing and being a good thief. Put together about 10 projects already and some of them even work!

You have an interesting perspective on teeny vs Arduino, and if it works for you, great. I like the Arduino community because there's lots of documentation, instructions and examples, so I can stand on the shoulders of the pioneers.

If you like the form-factor of the teensy and want to try something in the Arduino space, check out Modern Device Co. for the Really Bare Bones Board (http://moderndevice.com/RBBB_revB.shtml). I am not associated with them in any way, just like their stuff.

Oh yes, how could I forget. They aren't even 'real' B movies. They're just Bad movies. Real low budget movies are so bad they're good.

If I see one more oversized snake/gator/spider... well if I were still watching the channel that is.

Oh well, there's very little on cable/broadcast that I still watch anymore. I think I watch more video via boxee and from things my TiVo downloads than from traditional 'TV'.

I didn't know you could compile PHP either, until Darren told me he wanted to use my script in a segment about PHP compilers. There's another one, that I didn't know about at the time that I did the segment, called ZZEE PHPExe. I've never used it, but someone on the Revision3 forums recommended it as an alternative.

Hey there Jody. Just caught you on Hac5, thought I'd drop by and say good work on the show. I wasn't aware there were compilers for turning PHP into .exe. I haven't worked in php since college, been on .NET since entering the working world...
